Check the conditions of the air cleaner and clean it monthly or every 4000 km, depending on the conditions in which the vehicle is used. If the vehicle is used on dusty or wet roads, the cleaning operations and any replacement should be carried out more frequently. REMOVING THE AIR CLEANER Position the vehicle on the stand. N Unscrew and extract the screw (1), taking the washer and the carburettor drain pipe ring (2). N By inserting the key in the apposite hole (3) on the rear part of the fairing, unscrew and extract the screw (4) with the relative washer. N Grasp the sleeve (6) in correspondence with the hose clamp and pull it, thus removing the whole air cleaner (7). N CLEANING THE AIR FILTER Unscrew the three screws (8). N To clean the filtering element use clean, non-inflammable solvents or solvents with high volatility point, then let it dry thoroughly. N Apply a filter oil or a thick oil (SAE 80W90) on the whole surface of the filtering element, then squeeze it to eliminate the oil in excess.
