Voice selection The "voice selection" fast access button (see also page 13) gives you the option of accessing stored destinations directly using the voice recording function. Press the "voice selection" button on your Traffic Assist Pro and repeat a previously stored voice command after the signal. The unit starts to calculate the route and initiates navigation.

Press the Voice recording button and follow the instructions on the display.

If you have entered a name and pressed OK to accept it, the destination is transferred to the fast access menu, saved and marked with an asterisk.

Navigational mode
Starting navigation The Start button can be used to start navigation straight away. Stopping navigation There are three ways in which you can stop directions to the destination. Destination: Points of interest select Points of interest, or POI for short (Point of Interest), are included in the map and can be displayed on the map. Points of interest include airports and ferry terminals, restaurants, hotels, petrol stations, public buildings etc. Note: Points of interest from the present surroundings can only be selected if the reception is good enough to locate their position. You can select between: · a nearby destination, · a nationwide destination and · a destination in a town.

You can now use the buttons to select the search area you want. Press the Nearby GPS position button.

Note: If you leave the Sub-category box empty, all points of interest from the main category in the radius selected are displayed.

Select the type of point of interest (e. g. airport) from the All categories box.

Now select the point of interest which you want to approach. You will find information about working with the entry menu in the chapter "Entries made with the entry menu" on page 27.

The following specifications are possible for searches in this point of interest window. In the top button, enter the radius (in kilometres) in which a point of interest should be searched for.
Note: The Category boxes do not have to be. In large towns, this list may be very long.

Destination: selecting from the map If the destination required cannot yet or can no longer be found in the destinations memory, the Select on map button allows you to select it directly. No address details are asked for in this case.

Note: The Category boxes do not have to be completed. Once you have selected a point of interest, the keys in the lower area can be used: · to display points of interest on the map · define options of the drive profile · to save the point of interest in the destinations memory · to start directions to the point of interest immediately.
Press the Select on map key to make a direct selection. The map display appears.

In the Town or Postcode box (top button) enter the town in which you want to search for a point of interest. [. . . ] GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) Central European Time The standard time at 0 degrees of longitude (the longitude which passes through Greenwich, Great Britain). This time is used worldwide for the synchronisation of data collection. GPS (Global Positioning System) GPS determines your actual geographical position by the use of satellites. The GPS receiver receives these signals and calculates the distance to each satellite from the running time differences and thus evalu78 ates its actual current position in terms of geographical length and width.
