Pan European Approvals Information (Only for FAX-920)
This product has been granted a Pan-European Approval via KCS in the Netherlands. It is designed to interwork with the basic network functions for facsimile and telephony in most European countries. However, since there are still network differences between countries, other features such as caller ID, will only work in the specific country for which this product was produced. If you experience any difficulties when connecting this product, please contact your nearest Brother Office or supplier, as detailed in the warranty documentation for this product. Reducing and Enlarging Copies (For FAX-920/930/ MFC-925 Only)
When making copies, you can reduce or enlarge the size of the printed image. To reduce to the size of your selected paper automatically, select AUTO. 4 Press Set or just wait for 5 seconds.
5 Use Z or X to choose a reduction ratio setting. 6 Press Copy.
Multiple copies (For FAX-940 E-mail Only)
You can make multiples copies using your machine, and you can choose whether the copies will be stacked (all copies of page 1, then all copies of page 2, etc. ) or sorted (collated). To reduce to the size of your selected paper automatically, select Auto. For example, press 9 for

Documents must be between 14. 8 and 21. 6 cm wide, and 15 and 60 cm long. Your fax machine can only scan an image 20. 8 cm wide, regardless of how wide the paper is. Adjust the paper guides to fit the width of your document.

The automatic document feeder (ADF) can hold up to 10 pages, feeding each one individually through the fax machine. Use standard (64 g/m2~90 g/m2) paper when using the ADF; if you're using heavier paper, feed each sheet individually to prevent paper jams. Press Resolution (before you send the fax) to select the resolution for the document you're sending.

Manual Transmission
Manual transmission lets you hear the dial tone, ringing and fax receiving tones before sending the fax. 2 Pick up the handset and listen for a dial tone--OR--press Speaker

using the dial pad or you can enter a One Touch or Super Tel-Index number. )
4 When you hear the fax tone, press Start. 5 If you're using the handset, hang up.
Automatic Transmission
This is the easiest way to send a fax. IMPORTANT: Do not pick up the handset--OR--press Speaker Phone.

If you're sending a fax manually and the line is busy, you can retry the number by pressing Redial/Pause.

If you're sending a fax automatically and the line is busy, the machine will automatically redial up to 4 times (3 times for Ireland) at 2 minute intervals.

Composing an Electronic Cover Page
See "Setup Quick-Dial Numbers" chap. Your cover page includes the name stored in the One Touch or Super Tel-Index memory. The cover page indicates the fax is from your Station ID, and the number of pages you're sending. If you have COVERPG SETUP set to ON (Function menu 3-1), the number of pages remains blank. 4
