Manual transmission (FAX-2200M only)
Manual transmission lets you hear the dialing, ringing and fax-receiving tones while sending a fax.

If it is not illuminated in green, press (Fax). (See Load originals on page 2-1. ) Pick up the machine's handset and listen for a dial tone. If you picked up the machine's handset, replace it.

Sending a fax at the end of a conversation (FAX-2200M only)
At the end of a conversation you can send a fax to the other party before you both hang up.

Ask the other party to wait for fax tones (beeps) and then to press Start before hanging up. If it is not illuminated in green, press (Fax).
Load your original. Replace the handset.

Basic sending operations
Sending faxes using multiple settings
When you send a fax you can choose any combination of these settings: contrast, resolution, overseas mode, delayed fax timer, polling transmission or real time transmission.

If it is not illuminated in green, press (Fax) before pressing Menu/Set. After each setting is accepted, the LCD will ask if you want to enter more settings: Press 1 to select more settings. --OR-- Press 2 if you have finished choosing settings and go to the next step.
Contrast
If your original is very light or very dark, you may want to set the contrast. Use Dark to send a dark document or make the fax lighter.

If it is not illuminated in green, press (Fax). Press 1 if you want to choose more settings and the LCD will return to the Setup Send menu. Press Black Start or Color Start.

Fax Resolution
You can use the Fax Resolution key to change the setting temporarily (for this fax only). If you are sending a color Fax, the machine will send it in real time (even if Real Time TX is set to Off).

Checking job status
Check which jobs are still waiting in the memory to be sent. (If there are no jobs, the LCD shows No Jobs Waiting. )

Press Menu/Set, 2, 6. 6. Remaining Jobs If you have more than one job waiting, press or to scroll through the list. Press Stop/Exit.
Canceling a job while scanning, dialing and sending the original
You can cancel a job while you are scanning it into memory by pressing Stop/Exit. You can also cancel a job while the machine is dialing or sending the original by pressing Stop/Exit.
Canceling a scheduled job
You can cancel a fax job that is stored and waiting in memory.

Advanced sending operations
Broadcasting (Not available for color faxes)
Broadcasting is when the same fax message is automatically sent to more than one fax number. Using the Menu/Set key, you can include Groups, One-Touch, Speed-Dial numbers and up to 50 manually dialed numbers. If you did not use up any of the numbers for Groups, access codes or credit card numbers, you can `broadcast' faxes to as many as 154 (FAX-2200M) or 158 (MFC-3320CN) different numbers. However, the available memory will vary depending on the types of jobs in the memory and the number of locations used for broadcasting. If you broadcast to the maximum numbers available, you will not be able to use Dual Access and Delayed fax. [. . . ] Fax Only, press 3.

Using Remote Access Code 1 Dial your fax number from a telephone or fax machine using touch tone. 2 When your machine answers, immediately enter your Remote Access Code (3 digits followed by ). 3 Your machine signals the kinds of messages it received: 1 long beep -- Fax messages No beeps -- No messages. 6 Hang up.
