Using the answering machine
Memory full
Your BT Decor 1500 answering machine can record 11 minutes of messages (including memos) before the memory becomes full.
When full an `F' will flash in the message counter and you will hear the announcement, "Memory Full". If a caller is leaving a message and the memory becomes full, the machine will announce, "Thank you for calling", and disconnect the line. Your answering machine will then automatically switch to Answer Only mode, and play callers the message, "Hello, your call cannot be taken at the moment, so please call later". You must delete messages to allow for more messages to be recorded, see above.
Remote access
Operate your answering machine remotely from any TouchtoneTM phone by calling your BT Decor 1500 and entering an access code ( ) followed by a 2-digit security * code. The security code helps to keep your messages private and can be found on a label on the underside of the phone. When you hang-up, the answering machine will switch on automatically and answer calls.
The access code and 2-digit security code cannot be changed.
19
Please note If someone else tries to call you and happens to let the phone ring for 20 rings, the answering machine will also switch on. If the memory is full, you will have to delete some messages before your BT Decor 1500 will switch to `answer on' mode. After you hear the `memory full' announcement, you have 8 seconds to enter your security code. You can then delete messages, see `To delete messages', pages 1718.
