Images taken with the Intelligent Face Detection (p. 32) ( appears on the screen). Press (Intelligent Face Detection), the face that is focused on is zoomed in to help crop the main subject. To specify a cropped part of the image according to preference, specify and adjust according to the procedure in TRIMMING.

· Specifications: Motion JPEG (p. 163), Monaural sound · Quality selection method: % (640 × 480 pixels) $ (320 × 240 pixels) · Frame rate (p. 163): 30 frames per second (fixed)
MEMO Fully pressed Press the shutter button down fully to start recording. During recording, lREC and a counter that shows the remaining time appear on the LCD monitor.
· The brightness and color of the LCD monitor shown during movie recording may differ from those shown before recording begins. · Pressing the shutter button down fully fixes the focus, however the exposure and white balance are adjusted to the scene being shot. · If recording is stopped immediately after it begins, 1 second of the movie is recorded onto the Memory Card or internal memory.
Advanced Features -- Movie
CAUTION Recording ends when pressing the shutter button down halfway during recording or the remaining time runs out. Halfway pressed MEMO
· AF-assist illuminator will fire when the subject is poorly lit. · See p. 107 for information on turning the AF-assist illuminator off. · There is no need to hold down the shutter button during recording. · Because a movie is recorded onto the Memory Card or internal memory as it is saved, it cannot be recorded correctly if the camera suddenly loses power (if the battery runs out or the AC power adapter is disconnected). · A movie file taken by FinePix F40fd / FinePix F45fd / FinePix F47fd may not be playable on other cameras. · Because sound is recorded concurrently with the images, make sure that you do not cover the microphone with a finger, etc. · Camera operation noises may be recorded during movie shooting.

· The quality setting is retained even when the camera is turned off or the mode setting is changed. · In r Movie mode, you cannot set the S (sensitivity) setting and FinePix COLOR setting. [. . . ] These actions could damage the cord and cause a fire or electric shock. This can result in you falling down or being involved in a traffic accident. This can cause an electric shock due to induced current from the lightning discharge. Load the battery as aligned with the indicator.
