Range of differential feed ratio Differential feed
The differential feed device is designed to prevent fabrics from puckering or stretching. Both stitch length and differential feed dials can be set at any time, even while sewing.

Stretched edges on knit fabrics are prevented by setting the differential feed dial between 1. 0 and 2. 2.
Puckered edges on fine woven fabrics are prevented by setting the differential feed dial between 0. 5 and 1. 0.
