The [FUNCTION] button will light.

The function of accessing the song screen can be assigned to one of the [F1][F3] buttons. For details, refer to "Assigning functions to the [F1][F3] buttons" (p. 43).

Selecting a song 1. In the song screen, press the [F1 (MEDIA)] button to select the media on which the desired song is saved.
If the [F1 (MEDIA)] button is not shown, check whether the [FUNCTION] button is turned off.

To select songs in a folder 1. Use the [VALUE] dial to select the folder.
An icon will appear.

2. Press the [ENTER] button.
The songs in that folder will appear.
3. Use the [VALUE] dial to select a song.
To exit that folder, use the [VALUE] dial to select "Up" and then press the [ENTER] button. If a single folder contains more than 500 files or folders, some of the files or folders might not be shown.
If the following screen appears
A screen like the one shown below will appear if you attempt to select a different song without saving the previouslyrecorded performance.

If you press the [F4 (OK)] button, the previously recorded performance will be erased. If you don't want to lose the previously recorded performance, press the [F1 (CANCEL)] button to return to the previous screen, and save your performance (p. 73).

The song will start playing, and the playback position indication will advance.

Recording your performance
You can record your own performance on the V-Piano.
1. In the song screen, choose song number 000 (song name: New Song).

2. If you want the metronome to sound while you're recording, turn Function on, and press the [F4 (OPTION)]
button.
The option menu will appear.

· In the option menu, use the [F3 ()] button or the [F4 ()] button to select a metronome parameter. · Use the [VALUE] dial to change the setting of the selected parameter.
Parameter Metronome Switch Metronome Volume Beat Description Turns the metronome on/off. When you've finished making metronome settings, press the [EXIT] button to return to the song screen. In the song screen, turn Function on, press the [F1 (TEMPO)] button, and turn the [VALUE] dial to adjust the
metronome tempo.

The [F3] button indication will change to [F3 (REC START)], and the V-Piano will enter recording-standby mode.

If you press the [F4 (REC)] button when a song is selected, a screen like the following will appear.

If you want to layer an additional performance onto the selected song, press the [F1 (ADD ON)] button. If you want to record a new song (rather than layering onto an existing song), press the [F4 (NEW SONG)] button.
If the following screen appears
If you attempt to select a different song without saving the previously recorded performance, a screen like the following will appear.
