The load capacitors, C1 and C2, should be chosen such that the equation is satisfied (typical values are C1 = C2 = 2 fF). All discrete components used to implement the oscillator circuit should be placed as close as possible to the associated oscillator pins (RTCXI and RTCXO) and to the VSS_MX1 pin.

Power Management and Real Time Clock Subsystem (PRTCSS)
The Power Management and Real Time Clock Subsystem (PRTCSS) is used for calendar applications. The PRTCSS has an independent power supply and can remain ON while the rest of the power supply is turned OFF. General-Purpose Input/Output (GPIO)
The GPIO peripheral provides general-purpose pins that can be configured as either inputs or outputs. When configured as an output, a write to an internal register can control the state driven on the output pin. When configured as an input, the state of the input is detectable by reading the state of an internal register. In addition, the GPIO peripheral can produce CPU interrupts and EDMA events in different interrupt/event generation modes. The GPIO pins are grouped into banks of 16 pins per bank (i. e. , bank 0 consists of GPIO [0:15]). There are a total of 7 GPIO banks in the device, because the device has 104 GPIOs.
